Genetic Genealogy Ireland 2013 Conference will include presentation by Surname DNA Journal author Dr. Tyrone Bowes, Ph.D.

An exciting event is planned for this coming weekend in Dublin, Ireland at the Genetic Genealogy Ireland 2013 conference, October 18-20, 2013.

This event is being is the result of a collaboration between the International Society of Genetic Genealogists (ISOGG) and some great DNA project leaders like Dr. Maurice Gleeson.   To my knowledge, this is the first-of-its kind dedicated to genetic genealogy on the Emerald Isle.

A number of great speakers and notaries in the Genetic Genealogy community will be speaking such as:

  • Professor Dan Bradley of Trinity College Dublin
  • Historian Patrick Guinness
  • Surname DNA Journal author, Dr. Tyrone Bowes, Ph.D.

Back To Our Past uses DNA with pedigress to connect DNA and genealogy. Thanks to various sponsors, this show also offers free DNA tests to Irish natives with key surnames with active DNA projects, so the conference will be creating data as well as discussing and analyzing what’s been collected in the past.

So if you, or someone you know is near Dublin, let them know about the conference or make plans to attend the next one.
