Most British Army regiments spent time in Ireland in the 18th and 19th century. If any of your Irish ancestors served (or married someone who served) in the British Army, this resource has good records of soldiers and sailors. Combining this personal identification with regimental unit histories that tell where a particular unit was located in a specific year could help you find the specific parish you should search for records of your Irish ancestor. - Republic of Ireland Military Records
